Kaifa Quarterly Technology Review of Q3 Concludes with Success

Release Time:2023-12-06

On October 26, the Smart Manufacturing Technology Center (SMTC) successfully hosted the quarterly technology review (QTR).

The main venue for the QTR was established in Suzhou, Executive Vice President of Kaifa, Yu HR and other Vice Presidents attend the meeting.

Opening Speech

Vice President, David Xiu gave the opening speech, stressing the importance of proactively seeking out and consistently sharing new technologies pivotal for future business expansion. He advocated for collaborative efforts between various departments.

Sharing Sessions

Theme 1: Green Energy-Saving Technology

The opening theme was centered on ESG, initiated with a presentation from Zhang Fang, Manager at Product Development Center. She expounded on the technologies embedded within energy-efficient control systems (EECSs) deployed in smart factories. An EECS, leveraging a smart Internet of Things (IoT) architecture, acquires real-time data on the energy usage of on-site equipment via diverse sensor types and uploads this information to a central server. Subsequently, the server orchestrates a comprehensive control scheme for valves, equipment, and production lines, guided by energy-saving strategies to enhance energy savings and reduce consumption. The system automatically processes and carries out statistical analyses of real-time energy monitoring data, thereby bolstering energy efficiency and facilitating lean energy management. This system presents real-time consumption data, automatic energy-saving, and lean management within the production sphere.

Zheng XB, a researcher from Technology Development & Central Lab, presented the technologies applied in the management, control, testing, and analysis of electronic products to safeguard the environment. With the tightening of global environmental regulations on electronic products in recent years, Kaifa's strategy to comply with such standards is paramount. Zheng XB elucidated on the comprehensive management and control strategies that span the entire lifecycle of a product, including design, material procurement, supplier management, production process control, and control of the finished products. He concluded by showcasing the testing prowess of Kaifa's laboratory in environmental protection and its capacity to deliver comprehensive environmental protection solutions to the company's diverse business units.

Theme 2: Digital Technology

The second theme revolved around digital technology. Yan ZG, Deputy Director of Information Systems, discussed innovative digital technologies that transform production paradigms. He showcased a series of videos demonstrating how these technologies can be assimilated into production processes to aid companies in cutting costs, boosting efficiency, and minimizing errors and financial losses. Highlighting a specific instance, he explained how an AI platform could automatically create an IC card upon the upload of a video, rivaling the capabilities of what an engineer might achieve. He urged all attendees to collaboratively expedite the integration of such technologies into production workshops.

Yi YQ, Director of SMTC, introduces the SMT utilization rate of each Business Unit. Furthermore, Mr. Yi also underscored the importance of sharing insights on industry trends and technologies in the QTR.

Theme 3: Large Language Model Technology

The third theme delved into the evolving large language model (LLM) technology. During the session, external expert Mr. Wang YF offered insights into the Pangu model3.0 - one of AI tools.

Summary and Closings

In the concluding remarks, Executive Vice President Yu HR conveyed his anticipation for a more profound integration of "AI-powered LLMs", a subject of keen interest in two consecutive QTRs, within the manufacturing sector. He highlighted applications such as process automation and knowledge base question answering (KBQA). Mr. Yu urged greater attention to these emerging technologies, singling out the SMTC for its crucial role. He encouraged the SMTC to act as a launchpad for the company in developing these advanced technologies. The department is expected to gather and share technological trends within the industry and expand its technological foresight to propel the dynamic development of the company's smart manufacturing technologies.
